Omni – Expected Transactions

General Transactions

1.       Omni generates exected transactions automatically for rent and regular contributions based on he data stored in Omni. Expected Loan payments can be generated from the Loan Analysis program.  Details of these automatic expected transactions.

2.       Other types of expected transactions (e.g. tax reclaims and fees due) can be entered by the user.

3.       To enter an expected transaction, enter all the details that you would normally enter for a normal bank transaction and then click the ‘Expected Transaction’.

4.       The ‘Date’ entered for the expected transaction is the date that the amount is or was due. This date will be stored as the expected date of payment for that transaction as well as the date due.

5.       If the date due needs to be amended, the transaction can be edited in the same way as any new bank transaction and then click ‘Expected Transaction’.

6.       When the amount is actually received or paid, the date of the transaction should be amended and then click ‘Accept’ to convert the expected transaction to a new, un-posted bank transaction. This will amend the date of the transaction but will leave the ‘Date Due’ at its previous value.

Investment Valuations

7.       When an investment valuation is produced an effective date is selected. Any general expected bank transactions that were due before the effective date and have not been converted into actual transactions are added to the investment valuation as Debtors or Creditors.

8.       Similarly, any transactions that were enter as an expected transactions with a due date before the effective date and were received after the effective date are also included.

9.       Any ad-hoc Debtors entered for that date in ‘Investments, Debtors and Creditors’ are shown in addition and so the payments should not be entered here.

10.    For example,  if rent as due on 25th March 2007 but was not received until 30th May 2007, then it will be included as a debtor in a valuation at 30th April 2007.

Draft Accounts

11.    The principles are the same as for the ‘Investment Valuation’. Overdue rent and loan payments are shown as debtors at the end of the draft accounts.
